Thomas McGettrick Institute of Technology (TMIT) welcomes applications from suitably qualified candidates into its National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND), and Certificate programmes. Admission into all programmes is conducted in line with the regulations of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
Prospective students are advised to carefully review the general admission requirements, programme-specific criteria, and application process outlined below before applying.
GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Admission into TMIT is based on the fulfillment of academic qualifications, age requirements, and successful completion of all screening processes.
Age Requirement
- Candidates must be at least 16 years of age at the time of admission.
O’Level Requirements
- A minimum of five (5) credit passes in SSCE / NECO / GCE O’Level / NABTEB
- Credits must include English Language and Mathematics
- Results must be obtained in not more than two (2) sittings
- Subjects must be relevant to the chosen course of study
JAMB / UTME REQUIREMENT
- All ND and HND applicants must have a minimum UTME score of 100
- Candidates must select Thomas McGettrick Institute of Technology (TMIT) as First Choice Institution during JAMB registration
ADMISSION APPLICATION PROCESS (ND PROGRAMMES)
Admission into National Diploma programmes follows the steps below:
1. JAMB UTME Application
Candidates are required to:
- Purchase the JAMB UTME form
- Choose Thomas McGettrick Institute of Technology (TMIT) as first choice
- Meet the minimum UTME score of 100
Successful candidates will be considered for admission in accordance with NBTE and JAMB guidelines.
2. Obtain TMIT Admission Form
- Candidates must obtain and complete the Institute Admission Form
- Completed forms must be submitted to the School Registry
3. Computer-Based Test (CBT)
- Applicants will be required to sit for a Computer-Based Test (CBT) conducted by the Institute
- Performance in the CBT forms part of the admission assessment
4. Screening of Credentials
- All academic and personal credentials will be verified
- Any false declaration or forged document leads to automatic disqualification
