Programme Overview

The ND in Computer Science is designed to train students in computing principles, programming, database management, systems analysis, and computer operations. The programme combines theory, practical laboratory work, project development, and SIWES to produce graduates capable of applying computing solutions in business, education, and industry in line with NBTE standards.

Entry Requirements

O’Level Requirement

The entry requirements into National Diploma in Computer Science programme are as follows:-

  • Five credit level passes in GCE “O” level, Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) (WAEC, NECO and NABTEB) at not more than two sittings. 

The five subjects must include:

  1. English Language, Mathematics, Physics and two other subjects chosen from the following:
  2.  Economics, Geography,
  3.  Further Mathematics, Chemistry, 
  4. Biology/Agricultural Science. 
  5. Computer Science. 
  6. And Relevant NTC/NBC & NVC Trades Plus JAMB Examination as resolved by National Policy on Education.
  • A pass in Computer Foundation Examination (CFE) of Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN). The student must be prima fascia qualified as in (a) above.

 

Jamb Requirement

English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry 

UTME score: 100

Graduation Requirements

To be awarded the National Diploma (ND) in Computer Science, a student must:

    • Pass all prescribed courses in ND I and ND II

    • Complete and pass SIWES and submit approved report

    • Complete final year project

    • Earn the required NBTE credit units

    • Minimum CGPA of 2.00
