Programme Overview

The ND in Medical Laboratory Technology trains students to carry out routine laboratory investigations that aid in disease diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. The programme combines classroom instruction, intensive laboratory practicals, industrial attachment, and project work, and is aligned with NBTE minimum standards and relevant professional regulations.

Entry Requirements

O’level Requirement

The entry requirements into National Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technician are as follows:-

  1. Five credit level passes in GCE “O” level, Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) (WAEC, NECO and NABTEB) at not more than two sittings. 

The five subjects must include:

English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology

Jamb Requirement

English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology 

UTME score: 100

Graduation Requirements

  • Pass all prescribed theory and practical courses

  • Complete and pass laboratory practicals and SIWES

  • Complete diploma project (where applicable)

  • Earn required NBTE credit units

  • Minimum CGPA of 2.00
