Overview
The School of Health Technology at Thomas McGettrick Institute of Technology (TMIT), Ogoja, is an academic unit established to train middle-level health manpower required for effective healthcare delivery in Nigeria. The School is responsible for providing competency-based education and professional training in health-related disciplines, in line with national health manpower development goals.
The School offers National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND) (where approved), and professional diploma programmes, designed to equip students with the theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and professional ethics required in healthcare practice. Training emphasizes classroom instruction, laboratory and clinical practicals, industrial attachments, and professional examinations.

History
The School of Health Technology was established as part of the institutional mandate of Thomas McGettrick Institute of Technology, Ogoja, to contribute to national development through the training of competent health professionals and technicians.
The School was created in response to the growing demand for trained healthcare personnel in areas such as community health services, medical laboratory diagnostics, and pharmaceutical support services. Since its establishment, the School has progressively developed its academic programmes, facilities, and staffing to meet the standards of relevant regulatory bodies.
Through continuous curriculum development and adherence to professional regulations, the School has remained focused on producing graduates who are professionally competent, ethically grounded, and responsive to community and national healthcare needs.
